Membership is open to any medical doctor who has been trained outside of Canada and to Canadian citizens training to become medical doctors outside of Canada.

Most of our members come from those countries whose standards of medical training the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC (CPSBC) is not familiar with or has deemed 'unacceptable.'This is the majority of the countries in the world and includes the main countries of origin of most immigrants to BC.

If you come from Great Britain, Scotland, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia or South Africa then you do not need to repeat your residency training in Canada and the process for becoming licensed is fairly straightforward. If you come from elsewhere in the world then your path is quite challenging but things are now beginning to change in a positive way. We recommend that you join our organization and recieve direction and support in this process.
